“Ink Sonnets” (2022)

William Shakespear’s 154 sonnets are the source text for my “Ink Sonnets”. Each sonnet was converted to binary code and is then represented with ink splashes. The ink splashes are generated by code and each one is unique. Running the programme generates the sonnets over the course of several hours, running the programme again generates a completely new set of images - the positions of the ink splashes will be the same but each splash is different. It is important that only a single physical copy of any generated image is ever printed.
